York Music Centre runs a wide range of group music making opportunities for all ages (3 to 18) and all abilities - every week during term time.

Millthorpe School - Saturdays               9.15am - 1.00pm

Millthorpe School - Tuesday                  4.30pm - 6.30pm

Millthorpe School  - Wednesdays          4.30pm - 6.30pm

York Music Centre is supported using public funding by Arts Council England. FREE places are available to children and families in need.

All students have the opportunity to experience playing in informal and formal concerts throughout the year, both locally and regionally. For the more senior/advanced groups there is also the opportunity to play abroad during summer tours.  There are often additional projects for various groups and all students have the opportunity to engage with Arts Award at all levels (Discover, Explore, Bronze, Silver, Gold).

About York Arts Education CIC

York Arts Education CIC is a not-for-profit social enterprise with Community Interest Company status. We are the lead delivery partner for the York Music Hub, responsible for providing a first point of access and progression route to music for all children and young people (aged 0 - 18) and provide a low cost instrumental hire service for individuals and schools.  We engage musically with several hundred young people every week and are committed to providing opportunities of the highest quality for all.  We offer free instrumental hire and free places at York Music Centre for children and young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.
